Mastering “Behind the Glass” with Sasha Dobson
I recently had the good pleasure of mastering a track for Lambkini’s “Behind the Glass” series featuring Sasha Dobson, an incredibly talented singer-songwriter out of Brooklyn, NY (originally from Santa Cruz, CA.) Sasha just released a full-length album in 2013 entitled Aquarius and is releasing a new album on January 28th called Into The Trees. She also plays and sings in a new group called Puss N’ Boots who you will absolutely be hearing from soon, if you haven’t already. This episode of “Behind the Glass” was filmed at Studio G Brooklyn featuring engineers Joel Hamilton and Francisco Botero. Joel Hamilton is the co-owner of Studio G Brooklyn, as well as an accomplished music producer and audio engineer and guitarist. Joel has produced and engineered for the likes of Blakroc, Tom Waits, Matisyahu, Plastic Ono Band, as well as the new Pretty Lights album which is Grammy nominated this year for Best Dance/Electronica Album. On this episode, Joel is producing, playing guitar, and also mixed the track. Francisco recorded Sasha’s track directly to analog tape. Sasha Dobson sings and plays guitar on this track. John Evans (Tori Amos) is playing bass. Michael Jinno (Sasha Dobson) is playing keys. Kenny Wollesen (Tom Waits, John Zorn) on drums.
Lambkini is a multi-faceted production company located here in New York City. They specialize in creating content driven videos that connect musicians and artists with their fans. Check them out!
